Before work begins
Every project starts with a written scope and quote. Work begins only after you confirm that scope. If you decide not to proceed before work has started, no charge applies.
Cancelling after work has started
If you cancel a project after engineering review, calculations, or drafting has already begun, you will be invoiced for the portion of work completed up to that point, rather than the full project fee.
Revisions included
Reasonable revisions needed to address plan-review comments from the local building department, on the original agreed scope, are included as part of the project until a sealed set is accepted or the project reaches final approval.
Revisions outside the original scope
Changes to the project itself (a different design, added square footage, a change in project type) after work has started, or requests to revise a project after final sealed documents have already been delivered, are treated as new work and quoted separately.
No guarantee of approval
Because permit approval is decided by the local jurisdiction and not by us, fees paid for completed engineering work are not refundable on the basis that a jurisdiction ultimately declines or delays a permit, provided the work was prepared to the scope agreed.
