Equipment Foundation and Anchorage Drawings
Foundation, pad and anchorage design for machinery, tanks, rooftop units and process equipment. Static weight is the easy part: vibration and seismic anchorage are what the review focuses on.
structural design, starting fee per equipment group. Final pricing is confirmed in writing before work begins.
Drawings your jurisdiction will ask for
- ✓ Foundation or pad design sized for the equipment weight and operating loads
- ✓ Anchor bolt layout, embedment and edge distance details
- ✓ Vibration isolation where the equipment is rotating or reciprocating
- ✓ Seismic and wind anchorage calculations for the equipment as installed
- ✓ Rooftop curb and support design where units sit on the structure
- ✓ Verification that the supporting structure can carry the new load
Frequently asked questions about Equipment Foundation Drawings
Why does equipment need engineered anchorage?
Because codes require equipment to stay attached during a seismic or wind event. The manufacturer supplies the weight and bolt pattern, but the anchorage into your specific structure has to be designed and sealed.
Can you design for a rooftop unit on an existing building?
Yes, and it starts with checking the existing roof framing. If it cannot carry the unit we design the reinforcement or a support frame and show it on the drawings.
What do you need from me to start?
The equipment cut sheet with weights and bolt pattern, where it will sit, and whatever you have on the existing structure. Photos of the proposed location help more than people expect.
